The UAE government has resumed granting entry permits for domestic workers as well as employment permits for government and semi-governmental entities and vital facilities in the country.

The move was announced by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship in coordination with National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority.

Those holding valid UAE residence visas can now continue to enter the country, irrespective of their nationality and are required to submit a request on the website ica.gov.ae.

The UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization suspended issuing all types of labor permits on March 20, as part of the country's efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.
