Dubai-UAE: The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS), a regional leader in banking and finance education and training, has announced that it will host three virtual Open Day sessions for students of Bachelor and Diploma Academic Programs 2021.

Scheduled for 17, 26 June, and 8 July, the hourlong sessions – from 10 to 11am – will cover topics that are most pertinent to the evolving banking industry and its changing requirements, including “Math for business”, “Islamic finance” and “Introduction to fintech”, respectively. The leadership team of EIBFS, as well as experts from leading UAE banks, will lead the discussions, sharing their perspectives and professional experiences with the participants in the rapidly evolving banking industry in the region. Interested students can register for the Open House sessions on the EIBFS’s website.

The sessions are second in a series this year. In the first sessions, held in January, prospective students were introduced to various programs launched by EIBFS, such as Bachelor in Banking & Finance, Bachelor in Accounting & Finance, as well as professional diploma and certificate programs.

Commenting on the upcoming Open Day sessions, Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of EIBFS, said: “The Open Day, our biggest annual fixture that moved online this year, is part of our larger effort to leverage cutting-edge digital technology to upskill and reskill financial professionals and optimize their efficiencies in a post-pandemic world.”

He explained that the institute devoted itself during this challenging period to introducing new subjects that will enable industry professionals to not just function effectively but retain their competitive advantage in the future.

Such renewed thinking led EIBFS last year to deliver to 30,000 professionals specialized courses that are considered critical to the industry in the post-pandemic world.

The 2021 Annual Training Program (ATP) has been created through identifying 12 competency-based learning pathways, with the delivery methods tailored to suit the requirements of different categories of learners and audiences. It features a library of 360 courses and a schedule of 1,168 programs covering functional skills and soft skills development courses in categories such as data analytics, fintech, trade finance, compliance and anti-money laundering, risk management, corporate banking and management, as well as Islamic banking and business communication. These learning pathways are aimed at developing a holistic understanding of the domain.
