Muscat, Oman: A testament to its efforts to be the Employer of Choice, Ooredoo has been awarded Best Employee Experience Oman 2021 from the International Business Magazine (IBM) Awards. The achievement is particularly welcomed after an eventful year that saw the telecoms company’s entire workforce transfer to remote working, while navigating the impact of the pandemic. With a vision to enrich peoples’ digital lives, Ooredoo has built up a solid reputation as one of Oman’s top places to work, demonstrated through its unique and dynamic working culture and a strong focus on professional and personal development.

Prioritising the protection of staff, as well as bolstering their network in order to continue serving customers, companies and government during the pandemic, Ooredoo was among the first organisations in the Sultanate to activate work-from-home protocols, while ensuring its employees were equipped with the technologies and capabilities to do so. As a result, 86% of the Ooredoo family expressed satisfaction with working from home, and that they had the access to the necessary resources and support. Meanwhile, it continued to provide them with ways to enhance their skillsets, through online and virtual training and development programmes.

The pandemic has served to affirm the telecoms company’s digital transformation strategy and forward-thinking approach, when it comes to both its people and customers. Ooredoo continues to position itself as one of Oman’s top employers and a cornerstone of the community. As such, its efforts have been recognised at home and abroad. Last year Ooredoo was certified as one of the Sultanate’s best places to work by the annual Best Workplaces Research Program, and was more recently named Oman’s Most Outstanding Telecommunications Company at the 2021 Corporate Excellence Awards.
