RIYADH/JEDDAH: MBC GROUP, the largest and leading media company in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), announces the launch of MBC TALENT – a new arm aimed at managing Saudi talent in the entertainment and media industries. The launch of MBC TALENT follows the successful recent establishment of MBC ACADEMY, an educational and training platform with the mission to discover, upskill, and nurture Saudi talent in the media and production space.

MBC TALENT aims to attract promising Saudi talent of all ages and backgrounds – including the best graduates of MBC ACADEMY – to mentor, guide and harness their capabilities according to their specialist fields. Members will be able to take on various regional and international work and assignments, within and outside of MBC GROUP.

MBC TALENT also seeks to invest in specialist talent, providing notable individuals with career growth opportunities via the extensive network of MBC GROUP which includes the region’s leading streaming platform, Shahid VIP, and MBC STUDIOS.

Jana Yamani, Executive Director of MBC ACADEMY and MBC TALENT commented: “A major part of MBC ACADEMY’s mission is to attract and develop Saudis of all ages. Today, we are proud to announce our latest achievement for the beginning of 2021: the launch of MBC TALENT, which will serve as an agency for talent management.

“We’re proud that MBC TALENT is licensed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA), offering Saudi creatives exciting opportunities to carve and build a career in the region’s thriving media and entertainment sectors.”

She continued: “The aim of MBC TALENT is for it to become a pioneer in the field of talent management in the country, to represent the largest creative community in the region, and to be trusted by media and entertainment professionals in the region and beyond as we collaborate with media networks, studios, production companies, agencies, platforms and suppliers and more.“

“We’re also open to collaborating with content and other talent seekers in the region, to provide exclusive opportunities for our community.”

Yamani concluded: “We’ve already been working hard behind the scenes to fulfil MBC TALENT’s goals. For example, most recently we were involved in conducting auditions to cast Saudi talent in both local and international film productions for MBC STUDIOS.

“This is just the beginning – we have many exciting initiatives and projects coming up that will be announced in due course.”

During 2021, MBC TALENT’s team plans on extending its efforts beyond in-house programmes, by touring the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to scout and audition talent. The number of individuals set to be represented by MBC TALENT is expected to reach more than 100 individuals by the end of 2021.

Furthermore, MBC TALENT won’t restrict its members to MBC GROUP platforms, facilities, channels, productions or projects; rather it will provide a wide range of professional opportunities within the media and entertainment sectors locally, regionally and internationally. It is hoped that this will elevate Saudi talent in the region and beyond, as well as provide more premium content opportunities for the Kingdom.
