(Manama, Bahrain) - The FinTech series, in partnership with Andra Public Relations and the Capital Club, hosted a specialised FinTech Workshop for  Al Salam Bank’s 13th batch of summer interns.  The 3-hour workshop included four speakers from various organizations to highlight certain elements within the Bahrain FinTech Landscape. Speakers included Tareq Noor; Senior Executive, Financial Services at the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Shanthini Raja; CEO of Rsquare, Dylan Miles; Chief Architect at Innervate Technology Solutions Ltd. and Ameera Mohammed; Senior Analyst at Bahrain FinTech Bay.

The workshop included 26 young Bahraini university students and Al Salam’s Management team from the Human Resources department. The Bahraini students are part of Al Salam’s 13th annual summer internship program, a training and development initiative designed to shape the future leaders of Bahrain’s banking industry.

The workshop had two general awareness sessions. One; highlighting the role of the Bahrain Economic Development Board and their initiatives for the FinTech ecosystem in Bahrain, presented by Tareq Noor.  Two; an introduction to the FinTech Talent Programme (FTP) by Ameera Mohammed, a Senior Analyst in Bahrain FinTech Bay. The FinTech Talent Programme is a one-of-a kind FinTech program for Bahraini university graduates, who will have the opportunity to develop their professional skills and gain insightful experience in the latest FinTech trends and technologies on a global scale.

The second half of the workshop included presentations from two FinTech corporates that shared insights based on experience in the region. Dylan Miles from Innervate UK spoke about “Digital Transformation in a changing world” speaking about the trends, and challenges in a constantly shifting landscape. Shanthi Raja; CEO of Rsquare presented “An Introduction to RPA, AI and Machine Learning”; an engaging educational session on the types of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and on the future of Robotic Process Automation.

The Fintech Series will continue to host corporates and startups from Bahrain’s Fintech space, and MENA. The aim of this initiative goes towards supporting the fintech ecosystem growth in Bahrain, and provide an engaging platform for Fintech industry leaders to share their insights. In addition, the series will host customized workshops.

The Fintech Series will be hosting corporates and startups from Bahrain’s Fintech space, and MENA. The aim of this initiative goes towards supporting the fintech ecosystem growth in Bahrain, and provide an engaging platform for Fintech industry leaders to share their stories,and address the most pressing issues, trends in the FinTech sector.  The new monthly event will focus on various Fintech innovations and themes that will shape different industries and sectors within the region. This includes a special focus on developments in regtech, money transfer, blockchain, and more.

In the future, the series will be documented creating a Fintech channel that will be accessible to everyone. The Fintech series will build a compilation of insights and also serve as a learning tool for prospective Fintech enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs.
