Cairo – The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, announced the construction of a new bioethanol project at Damietta Port with an investment cost of $100 million.

The project has a planned annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes of bioethanol, used in several industries such as paint and ink formulation and antiseptic production, El-Molla added in a statement on Wednesday.

The announcement came during the Egyptian Company for Bioethanol’s constitutive general assembly headed by the minister.
