The Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has announced completion of 45 per cent work on a project for extending the scope of the UAE capital’s running and cycling tracks in 28 sites on the Abu Dhabi Island and the mainland.

The ADM said that the Dh100-million ($27.2 million) project stretches 14.12 km for cycling lanes and 39.31 km for running lanes.

It is aimed at encouraging members of the residential community to practise cycling, walking and running as a daily healthy lifestyle and use them as modes of clean, eco-friendly transportation, said a statement from ADSM.

The ADM is also planning to enhance the appearance of the surrounding areas of the running and cycling tracks by landscaping, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
