Ajman: The Ajman Department of Tourism Development concluded its participation in GITEX 2021, where it presented its latest technologies, digital solutions, projects, and smart services during the exhibition which took place from 17 till 21 October at the Dubai World Trade Center.
Smart Tourism Inspection and Classification System
During its participation under the umbrella of the Ajman Government, the department announced the launch of a number of smart projects and programs, of which is the Smart Tourism Inspection and Classification System. This internal system which is used by the Inspection Section at the Department includes an interactive map through which the inspection management of all the hotels and the touristic establishments in the emirate of Ajman are regularly monitored and updated; in addition to allowing the inspectors to check the status of active and expired licenses and permits.
The Smart Tourism Inspection and Classification System contains several useful features, mainly the issuance of establishment classification reports electronically, issuance of violations and inspection reports electronically, and receiving notices for violating establishments electronically, in addition to an interactive map and an interface displaying performance indicators for inspections and classifications of establishments. The entire system is linked to the department's electronic services system for data sharing, violations, requests for establishment classification, and other necessary data.
Self-Classification System
During GITEX, the department revealed the various features of the Self-Classification System, which involves the clients in the process of classifying their establishments by sending them a link 30 days before the expiry of the license requesting them to classify the establishment. The classification team then visits the establishment, reviews the client’s evaluation, and ensures its conformity to the standards, in order to reduce time and effort, and increase the client’s confidence in the classification process.
Ajman Museum Application
Ajman Tourism also revealed the new features and services of the Ajman Museum mobile application, which aims to promote the museum and its landmarks. It is equipped with modern technologies such as voice commands, an audio tour guide, an interactive map of the museum, and a QR code reader and uses location sensors. This feature is considered as the first of its kind to be adopted and used in a museum in the region.
His Excellency Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, said that the department's participation in GITEX 2021, which is considered as one of the most important tech events in the region, constitutes an opportunity to introduce the public to the latest digital experiences and innovative projects that we have launched, which included the development of tourism solutions for everyone involved in the tourism sector in the emirate that provide smart applications, information, and resources to enhance the overall experience of the stakeholders.
His Excellency pointed out that several meetings with partners were held during the exhibition, and the latest technologies used in the tourism sector were showcased. The department is keen on continuously following up with technological development and providing state-of-the-art smart services that raise the overall satisfaction of visitors and customers, in addition to enhancing their distinctive tourism experience, and shedding light on the smart solutions and applications offered by Ajman Tourism which aim to facilitate and expedite procedures, and obtain a comprehensive database of customers and visitors of the emirate.
Al Geziry explained that Ajman Tourism has made great progress in the field of smart services, as part of its relentless efforts to achieve the vision of Ajman 2021. And through the smart solutions and initiatives it showcased during GITEX 2021, the department aspires each year to provide a unique and exceptional experience for both customers and partners that exceeds their expectations and grants them comfort and happiness.
