Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading financial institution, today announced that it launched a digital account opening system to enable SMEs to open Elite Business accounts without visiting branches, or submitting physical documents or signatures.

The remote account opening service uses video calling services to facilitate interactions between ADIB’s business banking relationship managers and customers. It also allows new Elite Business customers to fill up, sign and upload all the required forms and supporting documents, as well as conduct the required authentication and identity verification through one integrated system.

Philip King, Group Head of Retail Banking, at ADIB said: “The launch of this platform reaffirms ADIB’s commitment in supporting small businesses by providing solutions that make banking more accessible and convenient. As the pace of technological change accelerates, we will continue to adapt and evolve our offerings to remain a digital banking leader in the region.”

Elite Business banking customers can apply for new accounts using their preferred device by following these simple steps:

  • The ADIB Business relationship manager will schedule a video session with the business owner.
  • The ADIB Business relationship manager will digitally assist business owners in filling the account opening application.
  • Business owners can upload digital copies of required documents, including a valid Emirates ID and Passport, as well as trade license, memorandum of association, proof of address, etc.
  • Business owner can digitally sign both the application form and the banking service agreement.

To drive digital innovation in banking, ADIB continues to deploy new solutions that offer a simple, convenient experience for businesses in the UAE. The bank also introduced ADIB Direct - Online & Mobile Banking which helped automate a variety of services for companies, providing them with significant cost and time saving efficiencies. Currently, over 90% of ADIB UAE’s online corporate banking services are fulfilled digitally through ADIB Direct.
