Qasr Al Watan Abu Dhabi will reopen its doors to the public from October 20 under strict Covid-19 safety measures, authorities have announced. Visitors will undergo temperature checks at the entrance and they will have to wear masks and maintain adequate social distance.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office said on Sunday that the Qasr Al Watan tour will offer a safe cultural experience. Bookings have to be made online through qasralwatan.ae.

The Palace in Motion Sound and Light show will take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Symphony of the Nation marching band will not be performing and the Qasr Al Watan Library will remain closed until further notice.

The cultural landmark that's housed within the Presidential Palace compound opened on March 11 last year. It is a working palace that hosts official state visits and summits, in addition to Federal Supreme Council and the UAE Cabinet meetings.

Construction of the palace was completed in 2015 after 63 months. Located on the Ras Al Akhdar peninsula, beside Emirates Palace hotel, the area including the palace and gardens encompasses 150 hectares.
