MANAMA — Bahrain has supplied medical equipment and oxygen to Pakistan to help the South Asian country combat the coronavirus pandemic.

The Consul General of Bahrain in the Pakistani city of Karachi, Yasser Ajlan Al-Hiddi, delivered medical equipment and oxygen to authorities in Pakistan, the Bahrain News Agency on Saturday.

The supplies were received on behalf of the Pakistani side by the regional commander for logistics affairs, Maj. Gen. Zafar Iqbal.

The support extended by Bahrain to Pakistan in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic is within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two nations.

The government of Bahrain has expressed its solidarity with Pakistan and its people in tackling the COVID-19 crisis and the support provides a reflection of the strong bilateral relations across all fields between, and the continuing commitment to support international viral mitigation efforts. — SG
