RIYADH – The Ministry of Commerce and Investment has given the go-ahead for the electronic service "Your QR Code", which is expected to increase the credibility of commercial establishments by providing information related to the commercial register and related government authorities, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Saturday.

This measure will in future eliminate the need for business owners to visit several government agencies to obtain various certificates.

The ministry has stressed that commercial establishments and e-stores will find it easy to use the "QR Code" and show it to consumers, who can easily and directly know the data of the commercial establishment or e-store by reading the "QR Code" and verifying its data with government agencies automatically.

The ministry added that the service “Your QR Code” can be used at commercial establishment’s headquarters as a substitute for the paper record, and in future it will reduce the cluttered appearance of many certificates, licenses and subscriptions that ought to be displayed in a prominent place at the entrance of the firm.

“Your QR Code” allows anyone to directly verify data on the commercial register, the municipality license, Zakat certificate, and Saudization certificate, the zone the firm has been put in the Nitaqat Program and the Chamber of Commerce subscription.

The ministry has indicated that it has sent to the owners of commercial establishments text messages containing the QR Code for their establishments.

It further said that the commercial establishments and e-stores can obtain the code for their commercial facilities directly through mci.gov.sa/QR.
