UAE - Fourteen businesses in Dubai have been fined over violations of safety protocols, authorities announced on Friday.
Five stores were also warned, the Dubai Economy said. However, out of 653 establishments inspected, 634 were found compliant with precautionary measures set to curb the spread of Covid-19.
As UAE authorities continued to crack down on violators of Covid-19 safety measures, hundreds have already been penalised. Some shops were shut, others were warned, and a number of residents have had to pay up fines. In the Capital alone, the Abu Dhabi Police have issued 1,672 fines over a two-month period.
Among the most common violations of commercial establishments were employees' failure to wear masks and lack of social distancing.
