The Kuwaiti trade surplus with Japan rose by 9.2% year-on-year to 50.92 billion Japanese Yen ($469.90 million) in September 2019 when compared to 46.63 billion Japanese Yen ($430.31 million), according to the data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance.

The rise in the annual trade surplus was backed by lower imports from Japan by 21% at 14.04 billion Japanese Yen ($129.57 million) in September, compared to 17.76 billion Japanese Yen ($163.89 million) in the corresponding month in 2018.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s exports from Japan edged higher by 0.9% year-on-year to 64.96 billion Japanese Yen ($599.47 million) in September from 64.39 billion Japanese Yen ($594.21 million).
