Kuwait - The value of total trade exchange between Kuwait and China reached $18.7 billion in 2018, Kuwaiti finance ministry’s undersecretary for economic affairs Nabil Al-Abduljalil stated.

China topped the GCC country’s trade partners in 2018, Al-Abduljalil added, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The top official’s statement released during the sixth session of the Kuwaiti-Chinese joint committee which discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries in areas of common interest, especially economic, trade, investment, development, and financial affairs.

Earlier in November, deputy managing director of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation's International Marketing Sheikh Khaled Al-Sabah said that Kuwait was planning to increase crude oil exports to China to over 600,000 barrels per day by 2019.
