MANAMA: The Housing Ministry yesterday started distributing units to beneficiaries as part of the third phase of the Al Qulai’a district in East Hidd.
The move followed an order by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, to distribute and allocate 5,000 housing units and services.
The East Hidd project is one of the main pillars of the ministry’s programme to implement His Majesty King Hamad’s order to construct 40,000 units, Housing Minister Bassem Al Hamer said.
He said the kingdom has made significant strides in the execution of the project, which reflects the great attention and follow up paid by the Crown Prince Prime Minister to the new Bahrain Cities projects in general and East Hidd City in particular, to achieve the King’s vision and aspiration to ensure housing supply meets demand.
The third phase of the Al Qulai’a district tops the projects listed on the ministry’s schedule, he pointed out.
Beneficiaries were requested to report to the ministry yesterday to complete formalities while observing mandatory precautionary measures.
The units in the third phase of the Al Qulai’a district are being distributed following completion of construction and infrastructure works there, he said.
The ministry has also completed work on gardens allocated for children, open spaces and tree-planting, in addition to walkways and bicycle lanes stretching along the coast surrounding the city, Mr Al Hamer noted.
