Flights between UAE and Turkey are set to resume within days after the pandemic forced authorities to shut airports earlier this year, Bloomberg reported citing people familiar with the matter.

Flydubai will restart flights between Dubai and Istanbul from December 17, according to a company spokeswoman,  Bloomberg reported.

Turkish Airlines plans to resume this route within days, the report said.

UAE's aviation regulator didn't respond to requests for comment, Bloomberg reported.

Last month the UAE had stopped issuing new visas to citizens of 13 mostly Muslim-majority countries, including Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Afghanistan and Turkey.

It was not clear if there was any exceptions to the ban.
