Dubai-based budget carrier Flydubai will resume passenger services to Doha starting next week.

The double daily service from Dubai International to Doha’s Hamad International Airport will kick off on January 26, the airline announced on Thursday.

“With today’s announcement, we see the Flydubai network grow to 64 destinations,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, the airline’s chief executive officer (CEO).

Due to expected high demand, Al Ghaith said they have decided to launch two flights daily on the Dubai-Doha route. “We hope to be able to continue to grow the service,” Al Ghaith added.

Flydubai’s resumption of flights comes after the three-year embargo imposed on Qatar has been lifted. Several carriers, including those operating in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE have already announced the restart of airline services in Qatar.
