Organic chemicals exports dropped 62% YoY

Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian chemicals and fertilisers exports declined by 10% year-on-year to $4.761 billion in the first 11 months of 2019, the Chemical & Fertilizers Export Council stated on Wednesday, according to the Middle East News Agency (MENA).

Organic chemicals exports dropped 62% to $148.05 million from January to November 2019, compared to $390.68 million in the year-ago period.

Exports of adhesive products decreased by 59% to $21.3 million in the January-November period in 2019, from $52.33 million the year before.

Moreover, miscellaneous chemicals exports went down by 37% YoY to $152.15 million in the eleven-month period ended 30 November, whereas non-organic chemicals exports shrank 23% YoY to $372.39 million.
