MANAMA - Bahrain Pack (United Paper Industries), which specialises in producing a range of innovative customised packaging solutions for the GCC market, is looking at expanding its business by launching new packaging formats as well as tapping into new markets in the GCC.

“We are currently studying the options of entering new sectors such as flexible packaging in line with the growing market demands,” general manager Hamed Faleh Al Abdulla said at the Gulf Industry Fair. Based in Bahrain, United Paper Industries is a company with extensive exports around the GCC region.

“Around 40 to 45 per cent of our total production is exported to the GCC countries,” Mr Al Abdulla said.

The company has invested BD1 million in refurbishing its facility with new machinery and is also looking at investing in neighbouring countries as part of its expansion plan. “We have expanded three-fold in the last 15 years and are aiming to increase our capacity by 25pc in the short term,” he said.

Set up in 1993, Bahrain Pack has since built a reputation for customising packaging solutions for customer needs. Its manufacturing facility located in Sitra Industrial Area is equipped to manufacture all types of printed and non-printed corrugated cartons.

In addition to its Sitra facility, Bahrain Pack has a second facility in Jordan which is run through its subsidiary company which produces some items from its vast range of corrugated cartons.

The company exhibited its products at the fair after a long gap with an aim to promote its full range of customised packaging solutions and services designed to meet the requirements of industrial manufacturers and service providers.

“Bahrain Pack is celebrating its 25th year in 2018. Our first 25 years of business have been successful in achieving 80pc share of the market in Bahrain, apart from high-value clients in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and in Jordan. We are excited as we look to the next 25 years in the development of Bahrain Pack,” added Mr Al Abdulla.
