ADNOC Excellence Awards program helping to shape company’s competitive, performance-led culture

Ceremony caps off week of activities and events, as part of company’s ‘People’s Week’ program

Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced, last night, the winners of its inaugural ADNOC Excellence Awards, which celebrates the extraordinary efforts being made to support the company’s transformation and 2030 smart growth strategy.

At the Awards ceremony, attended by nearly 1,000 employees, ADNOC recognized and showcased the exceptional teams who – by embodying ADNOC’s core values of Collaborative, Respectful, Responsible, Progressive and Efficient, underpinned by 100% HSE – have helped the company to accelerate delivery of its business priorities and strategic objectives.

H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State and ADNOC Group CEO, congratulated the winners who, he said, demonstrate the highest commitment to ADNOC’s core values and 2030 strategy and, on a day-to-day basis, prove how acting nimbly, thinking creatively and challenging the status quo is helping to transform the way ADNOC maximizes value from every barrel it produces.

Speaking at last night’s event, H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber said, “Since day 1, ADNOC’s people have been our greatest and most important asset. Our remarkable history and our bright future is shaped, every day, by our people – those who came before you, those now among us and those who will navigate the course ahead. As ADNOC continues to transform into a more competitive, commercially minded, performance-led organization, it is our people who embody the true spirit of ADNOC – helping us to compete, thrive and lead in this new energy era.”

In its first year, the ADNOC Excellence Awards attracted entries from across the 14 Group Companies, split across five categories – Collaborative, Respectful, Responsible, Progressive, and Efficient – all of which underwent a rigorous evaluation process to ensure that the final winners best-exemplified ADNOC’s commitment to performance excellence.

Award winners included:

  • ADNOC Real-Time Monitoring Center Paves the Way for Operational Excellence (collaborative);
  • ADNOC Alumni Program: The Pioneers (respectful);
  • Stopping the Tap on Ocean Plastics (responsible);
  • ADNOC Unified Brand Launch (progressive); and
  • Production Enhancement by New Shut-In Criteria for Gas Wells (efficient).

“I’m proud of all of you and all that you achieved this year,” H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber continued. “As we close out the year, I urge all of you to embed our values in all that you do. Truly engage one another – constructively, collaboratively, respectfully. Work responsibly and drive efficient solutions. Think creatively. Be progressive and innovative. And every day, maintain an unwavering commitment to 100% HSE. By doing so, ADNOC will continue to rank among the leading oil and gas companies in the world.”

The ADNOC Excellence Awards capped off ‘People’s Week’, an internal program of employee-focused activities and events, including the Human Capital Forum, a platform to exchange ideas, recommendations and best practices, as well as establish alignment between ADNOC’s human capital functions, setting its future direction to ensure human capital priorities continue to effectively deliver against ADNOC’s 2030 strategy. Other People’s Week initiatives included the Happiness and Well-Being Festival, designed to cultivate pride, health and happiness among ADNOC’s wide workforce and the communities in which its employees live and work.
