Dubai: The first of four Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge build up events will be held on September 4, with the main 92km event taking place on December 11, it was announced on Monday.

The first 35km build up will start at 6am at Nad Al Sheba Cycle Track and will be followed by a 45km ride at the same venue on October 2. A third 65km event will then take place at Dubai Cycle Track on October 30 before a fourth 85km cycle also at Dubai Cycle Track on November 27.

Now in its fifth year, the challenge is expected to attract more than 2,500 riders.

Those interested in participating for the first build up ride can register online for just Dh50. There is also an option to register for all four rides and receive a ten per cent discount but this option is only available until August 30. To register visit www.cyclechallenge.ae

“We have created the perfect platform which caters for all levels and cycling experience,” said a cycle challenge spokesperson. “With build up rides, cyclists have ample preparation time for the big event in December and we encourage all keen riders to participate and help promote cycling in Dubai.

“Entries are growing year-on-year and we are expecting this to be the biggest Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge yet. With the support from the Dubai Sports Council and the UAE Cycling Federation for our event we are confident that we will continue to build on the already established success,” the spokesperson added.
