Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: His Excellency Mohamed Mosbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry underscored the importance of strengthening the investment relations between Ras Al Khaimah and the Czech Republic, he affirmed the chamber’s commitment to provide all the possible facilities that help the investors to enhance their businesses. He added that the two parties have the interest to boost the economic and trade cooperation that serve the mutual objectives of the two parties.

He further noted that the relations with Czech Republic is special and is established on respect, trust and determination to reinforce the friendship relations through signing a number of bilateral agreements that shall contribute to developing the economic partnership in several sectors such as renewable energy, "solar energy", innovation, higher education and tourism.

This statement has been made at the margins of the business meeting which was organized by Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss the cooperation opportunities with the Czech Republic entitled “Partnership for Innovation”, in presence of His Excellency Jirí Slavík, Ambassador of Czech Republic to the United Arab Emirates, Arifa Saleh Al Falahi, Board member, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Saif Bu Alrogha Al Zaabi, Board Member, Mohamed Hassan Al Sabab, Director General of RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of Czech diplomats, as well as  officials from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other government officials.

The meeting highlighted the investment opportunities for both sides in many sectors including solar energy and innovation. Al Nuaimi noted that the bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah shall witness a great development and particularly in the trade sector. He pointed out that Ras Al Khaimah represent a strategic location for the Czech companies that wish to expand their businesses in the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa in addition to the logistical benefits offered by the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to the Investors.

Arifa Saleh Al Falahi, Board member, Chamber of Commerce and Industry delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the Chairman and thanked those who contributed to the success of this special event including Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as the government officials who are present in the event. This meeting shall contribute to reinforce the investment and trade relations between the Czech Republic and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The consolidation of cooperation between us is attributed to the clear vision for each of us which aims at pushing forward economic development efforts and strengthening cooperation between us, we are keen to come out today with recommendations that shall be achieved for putting into practice future development projects to provide the Emirate with the alternative energy and other sectors.

His Excellency Jirí Slavík, Ambassador of Czech Republic to the United Arab Emirate emphasized that the event shall contribute to reinforcing the relations between the Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirate and particularly the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, he pointed out to the development of the Emirate during the last ten years under the leadership of Sheikh His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, during which major achievements and success have been made to turn the emirate into a modern and lively destination.

His Excellency Jirí Slavík added that the Czech Republic today is a modern and secure state, and is a reliable partner which can provide wide range of cooperation opportunities, as our economy owns established traditions and well-known brands. We focus on seeking the new trends such as innovations and smart technology investments. He pointed out to the possibility of establishing an association for Czech and Slovak citizens in Ras Al Khaimah, with an aim to organize social, educational and cultural activities to help in the mutual understanding of the values and learning from each other which is crucial for the fruitful cooperation.

The Czech Republic Ambassador underscored the cooperation in research, development and education between the universities of both sides, including supporting studies of the Emirati students in the Czech Republic, and added that there are great potentials for cooperation in the health sector, with the high-level tourism facilities available in both destinations, underpinned by the great investment and business potentials for both the Czech Republic and Ras Al Khaimah, and there are opportunities for investment in auto manufacturing. He affirmed the Czech companies to look for more business opportunities in the UAE market.
