Dubai: The Maritime Standard has published the fourth edition of its well-respected and popular The Maritime Standard Yearbook 2019/20. The company took the opportunity of its participation at the prestigious Nor-Shipping maritime conference and exhibition in Norway to officially launch the publication which has a worldwide circulation and will be displayed at many international exhibitions and events over the coming year.

Trevor Pereira, Managing Director of The Maritime Standard, presented the first copy to Ali Al Daboos, Executive Director, Dubai Maritime City Authority at the DMCA stand at Nor-Shipping 2019, Oslo. He said, “It was a great honour to be invited onto the DMCA stand to hand over this launch issue. DMCA has done so much to establish the UAE as a maritime centre and it was only right and proper that the first copy of the TMS Yearbook should be unveiled at its stand.”

In response, Dr. Nawfal Al Jourani stressed how impressed he was at the quality and breadth of coverage of the publication. “We have a tremendous story to tell about the success of our maritime industries and the cluster we are developing. The TMS Yearbook is an important means to get that message across on an international scale, and I am delighted to receive this first copy,” he added.

The Yearbook covers a comprehensive range of maritime industry sectors in the UAE, including shipping, ports, shipbuilding and repair, marine law and insurance, logistics and maritime services. Clive Woodbridge, Editor, says, “There has been so much progress within different segments of the UAE’s maritime sector over the last 12 months that the Yearbook is a must-read publication for anyone with an interest in this business. The leadership of the UAE’s strategy is to support economic diversification and innovation and its active encouragement of maritime industries in this context is clearly having the desired effect, as the articles in the Yearbook demonstrate.”
