Dubai-UAE: - The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS) welcomed a delegation of senior officials from seven Nepalese banks and briefed the visitors on the latest technological innovations sweeping the banking and financial industry in the GCC region, as well as the training approaches that are in demand to hone the skills of its banking professionals.

Jamal Al Jasmi, General Manager of Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, and Noura Abbas, Director, Training Department at EIBFS, received the visitors and led them through a presentation on cutting-edge technologies such as Blockchain, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence and highlighted how the new technologies are profoundly changing the ways banks operate. Issues regulation and cost of compliance also were discussed.

The visitors also gained insights on the role of EIBFS in carving a niche for itself in the region for providing best-in-class training methods in the banking and finance industry.

Drawing upon the friendly bilateral relations that exist between the UAE and Nepal, as well as the importance of such visits in sharing and exchanging experiences and benefiting from one another’s training practices, Al Jassmi said: “The visit of the Nepalese delegation enabled us to learn more about Nepal’s banking sector and its training demands. The keenness of the delegates to explore synergies with our institute and banks is testimony to the advances and achievements of the UAE’s financial sector as well as to the innovative methodologies EIBFS has adopted in training our bankers to meet the technological changes the industry is witnessing.

“We hope the visitors were able to gather valuable insights from our presentations and discussions. As a leading training institute of the Middle East, EIBFS will be delighted to start a process of knowledge sharing that could prove to be mutually rewarding.”

EIBFS also facilitated a visit to Emirates NBD for the delegation, where the visitors were given a sneak peek of the world-class innovations implemented at the bank as well an overview of the future of banking in the UAE. As Dubai’s largest bank, Emirates NBD has been at the forefront of rolling out various customer-focused technological initiatives over the past several years. The Nepalese bankers commended the achievements of EIBFS and the UAE’s banks and expressed an interest in exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
