Dubai - Standard Chartered today announced Rola Abu Manneh as the new Chief Executive Officer for its business in the UAE. Rola succeeds Julian Wynter, who will be retiring following 26 years of service at Standard Chartered. Rola’s appointment is with immediate effect.

Rola joins from First Abu Dhabi Bank where she served as a Senior Managing Director and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Division for the Abu Dhabi region. She brings a wealth of regional experience and has a proven track record in Risk Management, Strategy and Wholesale Banking operations and has a deep understanding of the region. 

Commenting on the appointment, Sunil Kaushal, Regional CEO for Africa and Middle East, said: “With Standard Chartered’s 60 years of rich history in the UAE, we are well positioned to provide our clients with superior financial services, products and solutions. Rola’s leadership and experience will further strengthen and deepen our client relationships in the UAE and she will play a key role in achieving our aspirations in one of the most strategic markets for the Group. I would like to thank Julian for his significant contributions over the years and I wish him an enjoyable retirement.”

Rola is a seasoned Emirati banker, having spent the last 25 years in banking and finance. She had held senior-level positions in the Domestic and International Banking divisions and in Wholesale Banking.
