Wendy’s and Alghanim Industries today announced strategic plans for Wendy’s growth in the MENA-region.

Four new stores will be opening in high profile locations across the UAE, including The Dubai Mall, Jumeirah Beach Road, Nakheel Mall on the Palm Jumeirah and Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi. These four stores are strategically located in high foot traffic areas, and more importantly, will bring Wendy’s closer to its customers.

The Jumeirah Beach Road restaurant, around the corner from Kite Beach, will mark a new presence for Wendy’s with this flagship store. This will be the largest opening in the UAE so far, with seating for 70 diners indoors and a further 16 on the balcony overlooking Jumeirah Beach Road. The interior will boast a blend of traditional and modern features, including hand-selected furniture. With easy access from Jumeirah Beach Road and free parking spaces available for customers, Wendy’s Jumeirah is destined to become the favorite burger spot near the beach. Wendy’s Jumeirah will be open 24 hours a day, with drive-thru and delivery options available.

The expansion plans will continue with the opening of three further restaurants within prominent malls in the Emirates.

Wendy’s fans will be able to enjoy the famous square 100% Halal Angus Beef burgers at The Dubai Mall, the world’s most visited shopping and entertainment destination. Located in the food court opposite the aquarium, family and friends can taste such Wendy’s classics as the Dave’s Single burger, the Spicy Chicken sandwich and Frosty ice cream. The second mall launch will mark Wendy’s expanding presence in the capital at Abu Dhabi’s Al Wahda Mall, in which the burger chain will take on an impressive 170 square meters of space, with its very own seating area in the extremely popular food court.

Phil Broad, Vice President of F&B at Alghanim Industries, said: “It is a hugely exciting time for Wendy’s, with the opening of our four new restaurants in the United Arab Emirates this year. The building of the flagship Jumeirah restaurant marks a new era in the Emirates with our largest opening in the UAE to date. A further presence in the capital and launching at The Dubai Mall fully displays our commitment to making Wendy’s more accessible to our customers and improving the overall dining experience.”

This comes as Wendy’s makes important additions to its menus, including the recently launched Pulled Beef and Pulled Chicken sandwiches and Frosty Ice Cream of the Month. Wendy’s will continue to innovate with high quality products and more delicious menu items for its customers.

In 2017 Alghanim Industries opened three locations in Kuwait in The Avenues, Fahaheel and Marina Mall, in addition to the flagship store it opened in 2016 at Blajat Street, Salmiya. The company will continue opening more stores this year, the first being in the new Kout Mall.

Furthermore, in October 2017, Alghanim Industries won three coveted awards at the Global Wendy’s Convention. They collected two International Golden Grill Awards for the best freestanding opening for the restaurant in Kuwait (Blajat Street, Salmiya) and the best Overall Customer Satisfaction score. And most importantly, the team also won The Wendy Award for the best international franchise operations.

Alghanim Industries, based in Kuwait City, Kuwait, owns and operates more than 30 businesses in 40 countries across the MENA, Turkey, India and South East Asia. Since its founding more than a century ago, consumer-oriented businesses have grounded the company. Today, its growing portfolio of 300 brands includes a number of US partners, including General Motors, Ford, Mars, Whirlpool, Wendy’s and American Express.

Alghanim Industries has a growing Food & Beverage (F&B) portfolio, which began in 2013 with its franchise agreement with UK-based Costa Coffee, one of the largest coffeehouse chains in the world. In 2016, Slim Chickens was the latest addition to its growing F&B portfolio with the opening of its first outlet outside the USA in Kuwait in May 2017.

Alghanim Industries is a progressive business organization and supports a wide range of important causes in the Middle East. These include encouraging greater gender diversity in the workplace, striving to solve the youth employment issue through INJAZ, and supporting Syrian refugees through its partnership with the UNHCR.
