DUBAI, 20th July, (WAM) -- The Ministry of Infrastructure Development has begun executing the project of internal roads at the Bateen Al Samar Residential Complex in the emirate of Ras al-Khaimah.

Its estimated cost is AED26 million and it is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2018.

Engineer Ahmed Al Hammadi, Director of the Roads Department in the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, highlighted the fact that the project would be lit with solar-powered lights, thus contributing towards decreasing the percentage of carbon emission, the environmental impact on the region and the maintenance cost.

He pointed out that the project would be executed according to the highest specifications by relying on several intersections and traffic signals.

He emphasised that the ministry would execute the infrastructure projects, according to the system of sustainability and green buildings, in accordance with the developmental system of the country, its community, economic and environment standards, based on sustainable green buildings and renewable energy, which would be one of the main enablers to reach the ultimate goal in 2021 of making the UAE one of the most developed countries in the world.

Al Hammadi stressed that the Ministry of Infrastructure Development would work on keeping up with and applying the best international practices while executing the road projects, with the aim of making a qualitative and real leap in its development system.
