  • (TAP) – In 2016, trade flows between Tunisia and Spain amount to 2.770 Million dinars (MD), including 1.020 MD related to Tunisian exports against 1.750 MD of imports from Spain.

    Spain was the 5th importer of Tunisian products and the 6th supplier of Tunisia, said the president of the Tunisian-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry Josep Perpinyà during a press conference held on Tuesday in Tunis.

    According to the data presented during this conference devoted to the presentation of the junior chamber of industry and commerce created in 2016, Spanish investments in Tunisia amount to 1.270, 16MD.

    In 2016, Spain invested 36.56MD making of this country the fifth European country to invest in Tunisia.

    This amount corresponds to 4.75% of the total foreign investment from EU countries. In 2016, thanks to these investments, 371 jobs were created.

    In Tunisia, 64 companies with Spanish participation operate in Tunisia and employ 6,554 people. In Spain, about 4 thousand companies maintain relations with Tunisia.

    The Spanish companies have carried out important works in the fields of renewable energies, infrastructure and air traffic control. The membership of nearly 200 companies in the young chamber is predicted.
