To build upon the cooperation between Omantel and the Ministry of Health to reduce the impacts of COVID-19 on Oman, Omantel has announced that its customers can now browse the Tarassud+ App free of charge, as the data consumed by the App will not be reflected in the customer's data plans. This step comes as part of the company's efforts to support the Government's mission to vaccinate the people and combat the pandemic.
Commenting on the matter, Eng. Aladdin Abdullah Hassan Bait Fadhil, Vice President, Consumer Business Unit at Omantel, said, "As we are marching ahead toward becoming a COVID-free country and living life as normal, social collaboration continuous to play a crucial role to succeed. From a corporate social responsibility perspective, we firmly believe that it is our responsibility to ease people's access to technology during the pandemic in a way that supports the health and well-being of our society. Now, customers no longer need to use their purchased internet data to use Tarassud+ to book their vaccination appointments or get their vaccination certificate, which has become mandatory for entering any public places."
Omantel's non-stop efforts since the beginning of the pandemic continue to take an upward trend. Among its latest efforts was supporting the National Vaccination Campaign for COVID-19 in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre as twenty Omantel employees volunteered to participate in the campaign.
