Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Sipchem organized its 2nd Technical Seminar in Riyadh focusing on Introducing new polymers to the Saudi market and plastic downstream industries. During the event with was attended by a large number of companies executives, Sipchem introduced its capabilities and services available from the Sipchem Technology and Innovation Center (MANAR) to support local plastics converters with product and application developments. In addition, the event featured several informative technical papers on Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) and Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) which are new polymers being produced by Sipchem for the first time in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Mr. Samir Al-Jishi, General Manager of Strategy & Business Development and MANAR stressed on Sipchem’s commitment to develop new applications and emphasized that these types of initiatives are essential to promote a culture of innovation and collaboration across the plastics downstream Industry in Saudi Arabia. “one of the main feature that happened during this forum was the exchange of ideas which is essential to accelerate our learning and capture opportunities for future innovation and collaboration“.  Al-Jishi said. He added “MANAR is looking forward to hosting future technical seminars at different locations across the Kingdom to reach out to the plastic conversion industry with an expanded scope and attendees from the broader participation.”

Sipchem Technology and Innovation Centre (MANAR) is located at the Dhahran Techno Valley and was inaugurated in April 2015 by The Governor of Eastern Province Prince Saud Bin Naif. MANAR was established to support the growth strategy of the company and support the economic vison of the Kingdom, which promotes industrial and commercial diversification through the development of the plastics downstream Industry.
