Dubai, UAE– To mark the occasion of Earth Day 2020, Sharaf DG Energy urges residents of the UAE to pledge three things they will do to benefit the environment and better themselves following the COVID19 isolation.

Sharaf DG Energy takes this environmental initiative digital to commemorate Earth Day’s 50th anniversary amid the coronavirus lockdown. By engaging the UAE to make three pledges and continuing to spread this important message, Sharaf DG Energy hopes to get people thinking about what it truly means to be ecologically sustainable and what we as individuals can do in our everyday lives to live more consciously beyond this enforced collective pause.

Earth Day is an environmental movement and is recognised as the planet’s largest civic event. This year, the theme is climate action and people all over the world are finding ways to mark the occasion, virtually. Climate change represents the biggest challenge to the future of humanity and the life-support systems that make our world habitable, therefore it is imperative that the message of climate change is spread globally, and everyone takes responsibility for the part they play.

By creating a unique social template, Sharaf DG Energy invites users to list three things they will do post-isolation to better themselves and the environment, such as ‘I will walk more’, ‘I will recycle all my plastic waste’ or ‘I will continue to read and cook at home’ – tagging Sharaf DG Energy and Earth Day to keep the campaign spreading this important message.
