Dubai, UAE: Schneider Electric’s Gulf operations have been certified as fully compliant with the latest global ISO health and safety standard ISO 45001:2018. This certification, which followed a deployment for one year and rigorous audit over the course of several days across the company’s six offices in the UAE, underlines Schneider Electric Gulf’s commitment towards keeping its employees, partners and customers safe at all times.

Developed over a four-year period, ISO 45001:2018 has been designed to provide organizations all around the world with a set of processes that allow them to effectively improve work safety and reduce work related risks. The best practice certification specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, and gives guidance for its use, to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its operational health and safety performance.

The audit process included both business processes and operations. The audit team were impressed by the company’s health and safety processes, both in Schneider Electric’s offices as well as at customer sites. The auditors called out Schneider Electric’s comprehensive virus controls, and how it communicated with all parties in relation to pandemic-related issues.

“It goes without saying that this year has underlined the importance of well-thought out and tested health and safety management systems to keep everyone safe, be they our employees, our partners and our customers,” said Natalja Kissina, Schneider Electric’s VP for Human Resources in the Gulf. “We undertook the ISO 45001:2018 certification to test and improve our own occupational health and safety processes, and we’re pleased that the work that we have been done has been validated by the auditors. Our people truly are our greatest asset, and we will keep working to ensure everyone’s safety.”
