VIENNA - The President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE) Dr. Hashim Bin Abdullah Yamani has held here separate high-level meetings with representatives of Russian, US, Japanese and South Korean delegations to discuss carrying out the National Atomic Energy Project in the Kingdom, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Thursday.

During the meetings with officials of various delegations on the sidelines of the 61st General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) currently being held in Vienna, he discussed opportunities for joint cooperation to contribute to the implementation of the National Atomic Energy Project.

Moreover, KACARE President Dr. Yamani has briefed the delegations' officials on the latest developments of the National Atomic Energy Project in the Kingdom and displayed the project's components and key elements.

They also discussed ways of cooperation to support the Kingdom's national project, especially with regard to the feasibility study of the initial technical aspects of the engineering designs (FEED) for construction of the first two reactors in the Kingdom and the maximization of interest in this field.

Apart from this, they discussed aspects of the partnership aimed at the localization of the nuclear and renewable energy industries in the Kingdom, increasing the local content and implementing the different components of the national project. - SPA
