ArabFinance: EgyptAir Holding Company is ready to transport doses of the potential COVID-19 vaccine to Egypt, as well as any other destinations, Ahram Online cited Chairman Rushdi Zakaria on December 6th.

Transporting the shots will be carried out using refrigerated containers to keep the vaccine at the required temperature, the official stated.

EgyptAir will contact the concerned agencies to inquire about any further measures for the transportation process, Zakaria added.

“Most of the vaccines on the horizon need to be kept at very low temperatures, especially the one made by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech, which must be kept at a temperature of about -70C,” according to Ahram Online.

Last month, Egypt made an agreement with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, to secure 20 million doses of the shots.

The country is expected to receive the COVID-19 vaccine doses in May 2021, according to Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad.

Until press time, the North African state registered 118,847 total infections.
