Dubai Municipality has announced it closed seven businesses for violating precautionary measures on Thursday.

In a statement issued on Friday night, the authority said the businesses closed were a salon, a public space in a shopping centre, four smoking areas and a food establishment.

DM also issued 44 warnings.

It revealed on social media that 46 violations had been discovered from 2,488 visits to institutions, with a 96 per cent commitment rate to precautionary measures from the businesses visited.

Dubai Municipality reiterated that it was keeping the public 'safe by monitoring the work of environmental & health institutions, food institutions and their markets, and assesses their compliance with public safety standards and necessary precautionary measures'.
