The authority says the businesses closed were a salon, a laundrette, two smoking areas and two restaurants.
It revealed on social media that 69 violations had been discovered from 2,414 visits to institutions, with a 97 per cent commitment rate to precautionary measures from the businesses visited.
In a tweet, Dubai Municipality said it was keeping the public 'safe by monitoring the work of environmental & health institutions, food institutions and their markets, and assesses their compliance with public safety standards and necessary precautionary measures'.
