Muscat: Sohar Municipality in coordination with the Public Prosecution and the Royal Oman Police (ROP) raided an advertising and signages workshop in North Al Batinah.

A statement issued by Sohar Municipality said, “Sohar Municipality, in coordination with the Public Prosecution and the Royal Oman Police, raided a workshop for making advertising and signages on agricultural land without a license and in violation of the local orders organising for the light commercial and industrial activities in the wilayat and the decisions of the Supreme Committee in charge to deal with COVID 19.”

“The municipality took the necessary legal and administrative measures about this violation,” the statement added.

Sohar Municipality pointed out, “The Municipality continues its efforts in the field of monitoring and inspecting of light commercial and industrial stores and centres to implement the decisions of the Supreme Committee.”

The municipality confirmed, “Since the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic, the municipality has seized 167 violations and closed 57 facilities that violate the decisions of the committee and raided 10 sites and registered 67 warning of a violation."
