Expat laborers registered under canceled firms in Kuwait to be deported

KUWAIT CITY: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Al- Affasi said the ministry is in the process of canceling the commercial licenses permanently or companies or commercial stores that violate the instructions contained in decision issued by the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Health and the Kuwait Municipality regarding combating the new Coronavirus Covid-19 according the provisions of Law No. 111 of 2013, reports Al- Qabas daily.

He pointed out there are directives issued by the Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Nasser Al-Roudhan that any company or commercial store that violates the country’s laws related to fighting coronavirus applies will be severely punished including canceling the commercial license and closing its file at the Public Authority for Manpower including the deportation of workers registered under this company saying such violations are harmful to society.

He pointed out the ministry canceled the licenses of two offices which organize fish auctions in cooperation with PAM and the Kuwait Municipality, with a report to permanently remove the registered workers from Kuwait.

He pointed out the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with the Kuwait Municipality regarding cafés that violated the requirements of the Ministry of Health, and the license of every café that violated the laws by selling hookahs “Shisha” to customers over the past few days will be canceled because the Ministry of Health had banned the ‘sale’ of hookahs.

The expatriate labor registered on the canceled companies and commercial licenses will be deported from Kuwait, and the ministry is studying the work mechanism in coordination with the Ministry of Interior on appropriate ways to deport the workers.
