Bahrain will construct its first ‘educational park’ at the Educational District in Isa Town.

It will span across 16,293 square metres and will boast a state-of-the-art design, offering a unique learning experience to students.

The Educational Park will act as a one-stop-shop offering students, adults and entrepreneurs with specialised educational programmes and training.

The lease and development agreements have been signed between Bahrain’s Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the property arm of the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund, and Mayasem Holding.

“Our educational experience spans more than 30 years of leading the Bahrain Bayan School towards achieving its vision and mission,” said Mayasem Holding founder and chief executive Dr Shaikha Mai bint Sulaiman Al Otaibi.

“We have also succeeded in providing fully equipped spaces and training for entrepreneurs through Mayasem’s +973 Artisinat project located in Juffair which identified the gap and demand for specialised qualified educational support units, training centres, after school activities all under one roof.”

To avoid interfering with the students’ school or university curriculum, the facility will operate after study hours and will promote family-oriented programmes by involving parents in the learning process.

It aims to add value to the education sector by supporting creative Bahraini entrepreneurs in developing their potential and equipping them with the required tools and training.

Facility

Edamah chief executive Amin Alarrayed said the park will provide surrounding institutions and the public the opportunity to benefit from state-of-the-art facilities.

“We have conducted an in-depth field study which was circulated to the private and public schools across Bahrain, taking into account the needs of the institutions from the perspective of the students and families themselves,” said Mr Alarrayed.

“This has assisted in identifying the unique elements required for the development in order to fill the gaps in the existing market.

“This project therefore combines a blend of commercial and educational units, which will add significant value to the kingdom of Bahrain and educational sector.”

Security

It will be a gated facility designed with all necessary security measures, and fully equipped with state-of-the-art education centres that will be leased to schools and institutions, enabling them to conduct lectures, workshops, and hands-on training programmes, as well as theatre and art production classes.

In addition to offering the core subjects, the park seeks to collaborate with educational centres to offer specialised courses in diverse areas of study ranging from special needs education to liberal arts and robotics among others.
