The Sharjah and Ajman Police have deployed 110 patrols in various parts of the two Emirates to ensure safety and security during the Eid Al Fitr holidays.

Brig General Abullah Mubarak bin Amer, deputy Sharjah Police chief, said that in Sharjah, 70 patrols have been deputed since Saturday as part of the preparation to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow during Eid. Some of the patrols are stationed around mosques and Musalas to prevent unauthorised parking and blocking of vehicles.

He called on the people to cooperate with the police and support their efforts by monitoring and reporting on negative phenomena and behaviours. Public can help by adhering to the traffic rules to reduce traffic accidents and bottlenecks, especially during the Eid holidays.

40 round-the-clock patrols din Ajman

In Ajman, 40 traffic and security patrols have been deployed in various areas, including near the Eid Musalas, round the clock to provide security to the people and ensure their safety.

Lieutenant Colonel Saif Abdullah Al Falasi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department of Ajman Police, said the plan aims to regulate traffic, facilitate commuters and reduce violations, such as reckless driving. The patrols will focus on ensuring safety of pedestrians at shopping centers and residential complexes.

He pointed out the the Ajman Police will launch 'Eid Without Violations' initiative under which patrols will offer advice and guidance to the offending drivers, and not impose any fines on them.

Al Falasi urged drivers to comply with the stipulated speed limits, to leave sufficient distance between vehicles and to abide by traffic laws on the roads, while wishing them happy, accident-free holidays.
