Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The Construction Materials Laboratory of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) yesterday welcomed members from the ASTM International Chapter in the United Arab Emirates.

ASTM International is the standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services.

During the visit, the ASTM members were briefed on the services provided by the laboratory to test materials used in construction and engineering projects in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. 

The Chapter visited the various sections of the laboratory, which uses the latest equipment to provide world-standard technical and consulting services for building and soil materials, mechanical tests for hardness, physical tests on granular soil classifications, and transformer oil tests, among others.

The ASTM members commended the capabilities of the Construction Materials Testing Laboratory, appreciating that they are in line with the latest global practices.
