Health at Hand enables patients to see a doctor via video in minutes

Dubai - Today sees the launch of Health at Hand, a brand, new, free-to-download app which connects patients with high-quality, licensed doctors via video consultation in minutes, wherever and whenever care is needed.

The first fully-licensed and DHA regulated, telehealth service in the region, Health at Hand is set to change the way we seek medical advice in the UAE, as it looks to cut out waiting rooms, appointments and travel times.

With two-thirds of patients spending more than 45 minutes travelling, parking and waiting with each doctor’s visit[1] – Health at Hand not only gives back the precious gift of time, but it also helps to eliminate doubt over medical symptoms, giving consumers that all-important ‘peace of mind’. Furthermore, those using similar telehealth models in the US, such as Doctor on Demand, have over 90% resolution rate, with under 10% of patients referred for further treatment.[2]

Easy to use, the service works by asking each patient to complete a basic user profile ahead of being connected through to the doctor, with each face-to-face, video consultation lasting 15 minutes – or longer, should the patient need this. There is also the option for patients to upload information on their symptoms along with any relevant photos to support the diagnosis before they speak to a doctor.

Post the call, a full doctor’s report is made available to the patient within minutes, detailing the doctor’s treatment recommendations and medication advice, including if they need to see a doctor in person at a local clinic of their choice. Users can access all past consultation notes at any time within the app and download or share their notes should they wish too.

Charlie Barlow, Founder and CEO of Health at Hand comments: “We’re delighted to have finally launched Health at Hand in the UAE. With over 64% of people self-medicating and 70% delaying visiting a doctor because they think the illness will go away on its own[3], it’s the ideal solution for those who are time-poor but want to ensure their health and well-being is looked after. Health a Hand quite literally puts patient’s health back in their hands – and is without doubt the future of healthcare not just in the UAE, but across the globe itself.”

All Health at Hand doctors are UAE-based with DHA licenses and have undergone a rigorous selection process to ensure the highest standard of patient care. Furthermore, the Health at Hand platform meets HIPAA standards.

Health at Hand is available through pay-as-you go or an annual subscription, priced from as little as 21 AED per month. It also offers a corporate subscription model for businesses which allows UAE-based companies the ability to sign up their employees, making it an easy and affordable way to implement staff wellbeing.
