Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality has responded to rumours about information updates being processed via phone call and email.

In a statement issued by ICA on Tuesday, the authority said that updating of information of customers, which include their ID and Population Register, is done with via a secure and safe method.

Responding to rumours on social media regarding updating of resident information on Emirates ID cards being done via phone or email - the authority stressed that these mediums are not one of the methods used to register or update information of customers, adding that such process - or any other simple change - needs the customer to visit one of its centers with their personal ID.

This in person process is to ensure the authenticity of details on the ID.
