Kayaan Unwalla has recently joined Taylor Wessing (Middle East) LLP as a Partner and is head of its Defense and Security practice. Kayaan is an industry specialist within the defense, aerospace and national security sectors with experience in corporate, data protection, regulatory and government services matters.
Kayaan advises government contractors on highly complex matters involving acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic PPPs, investigations and regulatory compliance. Kayaan has also drafted laws and policies relating to national and border security and is a specialist in defense offset structuring, military logistics, cyber-security and dual-purpose technologies. As a highly experienced attorney in the region, Kayaan is regarded as a “bet the business” attorney by his clients who rely on his advice especially in challenging circumstances and geographies. Prior to private practice, Kayaan served in the Legal Department with a US DoD, UK MoD and NATO prime contractor and worked in London, Afghanistan (LOGCAP IV), Central Asia, Africa and the Middle-East.
