Bahrain is pumping more than $13 billion in infrastructure projects as part of efforts to develop the tourism sector.

The massive projects include hotels, shopping malls, health tourism and real estate projects.

The Government-funded projects also include the expansion of the Bahrain International Airport to accommodate 14 million passengers by 2020.

The Government is focusing on infrastructure projects in a bid to revitalize the tourism sector, which represents a key pillar of the national economy and purveyor of jobs.

The schemes are part of a long-term plan to invest $32 billion on mega infrastructure projects in all sectors, including logistics, public amenities, housing, industries and services.
