Al Ain – As part of its activities to mark the UAE Innovation Month 2020, the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) is taking part in the ‘Innovation X 50’ forum, organised by the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) over the course of three days.

The MFNCA will use the Forum as a platform to showcase the smart systems and applications it implements in order to realise its vision to enhance the relationship between the government and the Federal National Council and promote a culture of political participation in the UAE. The Ministry’s strategy seeks to boost cooperation with various government and social entities, in addition to enhancing its presence and participation at national and social activities. This, in turn, supports the MFNCA’s efforts to promote the culture of political participation among all members of the community – and the youth, in particular.

The Ministry of State for FNC Affairs will be showcasing the e-voting system at the exhibition – an innovative smart system that was created as a joint project bringing together various entities in the UAE. The shift from a conventional voting system that relies on paper ballots to a smart electronic system marks a significant milestone in the progress of political life and electoral processes in the UAE.

The MFNCA will also be displaying the virtual reality platform ‘You in the Federal National Council’ – a process that simulates a visit to the FNC while it is in session. Visitors can watch footage of FNC discussions and debates via virtual reality devices, with representatives from the government present. The objective is to educate all segments of the community about parliamentary life in the UAE, introducing them to the FNC’s processes and the efforts undertaken by of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs to enhance coordination between legislative and executive authorities, in order to benefit the country and its citizens.
