Top Agility executive recognized at 2016 CEO Middle East Awards

Dubai - Agility chief executive Tarek Sultan was named Industry CEO of the Year at the CEO Middle East awards, an annual ceremony held in recognition of the region's most successful and innovative corporate leaders.

Since Sultan joined Agility in 1997, it has grown from a small Kuwaiti warehousing company to the largest logistics provider in the Middle East and one of the world's top 10 providers of integrated logistics. The company now has $4.3 billion in annual revenue, 22,000 employees and offices in more than 100 countries.

"I am honored to be recognized by CEO Middle East as Industry CEO of the year," Sultan said. "This award recognizes the importance of innovation, and responding to the market and customers' needs, while also adding tangible value to shareholders and employees."

"Agility is still growing its global presence," Sultan said. "As we evolve as a company, our social commitments will keep expanding in parallel with our operations, particularly in emerging markets."

The CEO Middle East awards recognizes business leaders in 14 categories based on their performance over the past year, focusing on outstanding financial results and contributions to the regional business climate. The judging panel consists of the editorial teams from CEO Middle East and Arabian Business, as well as directors of ITP Executive Publishing. The gala, which marked the 10th year of the awards, took place Sept. 19 at the Dana Ballroom at the Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach in Dubai.
