KUWAIT CITY -  After a long delay and wait on issuing civil IDs for Kuwaiti citizens and expats since April 2021, things seem to be heading in the right direction after the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) decided to go ahead with civil ID cards without a chip.

PACI also has come up with a new workflow in maintaining and updating the software system in order to store data and provide better and faster service to visitors, reports Al Rai. The civil ID card is issued within a few days from the date of submitting the application. Currently PACI is giving priority to Kuwaiti citizens and those under the age of 5 yrs as this section is not in ‘My Identity’ App, so that the government authorities can review and families can travel.
