The Health Ministry has referred four restaurants and cafés to the competent legal authorities for flouting mandatory precautionary measures recommended by the National Taskforce for Combating Covid-19.

The Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has closed a mosque for one week in the Capital Governorate after the National Taskforce for Combating Covid-19 discovered positive cases there.

Another mosque in the Northern Governorate was also closed for one week for flouting mandatory health protocols.

During inspection visits to 70 restaurants and cafés yesterday, the ministry’s inspectors stressed the need to fully comply with the precautionary measures recommended by the task force.

The ministry said that the outlets facing action had flouted the procedures and terms stipulated in the ministerial edict 51 of 2020 on mandatory health protocols.

Those found in breach were referred to competent legal authorities.

Owners of outlets with minor violations were warned to address irregularities immediately.
